Flakking for the Chamber of Commerce on our anniversary
This weekend was our 35th wedding anniversary. It was a thoroughly enjoyable weekend and the Chamber of Commerce must have planned a long time to get the weather they delivered - a few high clouds in a blue sky, low humidity, light breezes. The strongest breezes were only ordered up I'm sure to frustrate the several hundred demonstrators who held a "die in" at the Capital. It frustrated them because it bent their crude and rude signs.
The demonstration was not the main attraction or reason for being there. It was that the National Gallery of Art is near the Capital and my company was hosting a "sneak preview" of the Edward Hopperexhibit for its employees. It was great to see some of his famous paintings like Nighthawks up close. We loved some of the New England scenes, which reminded us of places we've traveled.

Thirty five years ago Christine Wyrtzen was one of the musicians at our wedding. David Wilson was just a little guy looking on while his dad was getting us hitched properly.
It was a great day all around - and one worth celebrating, which we did.
