Swing for the fences

Sometimes the blogosphere serves up "meatballs" - stories that are "right down the middle of the plate" and you just have to swing at them.

This one is scary. It is a good example of where Emergent goes awry and diverges from historic, orthodox (no, its not un-generous) Christian belief. I had the opportunity to meet Doug Pagitt a few years ago and I absolutely believe he is born again. I also believe he will have a lot to answer for, according to Scripture.

This one is sad, especially when you take a mental tally of how many gifted leaders have crashed and burned after going to Willow Creek. Some have left without falling morally (which the article seems to relate is the case with both Appel and Frazee), but I can't help but wonder what it is about the structure of a church that chews up leaders with such regularity.
