Today's proverb comes from Proverbs 19, and follows hard on the heels of yesterday's thought from 18:2.  Verse 20 has this to say:

"Listen to advice and accept instruction, that you may gain wisdom in the future."

I guess it goes without saying that the advice to which you listen and the instruction you accept must come from a reliable source.  As the psalmist says in Psalm 1, make sure you don't walk in the counsel of the wicked, or stand in the way of the sinner, or sit in the seat of the scoffers.
