Worshiping in unity?

Here's a great post from Fred Bock's blog, "Jubal's Jottings".  (Correction: it's NOT Fred Bock's blog.  It's the blog of the Fred Bock Institute of Worship, and is blogged by Ed Willmington, the Director of the Fred Bock Institute of Music.)  I have always wondered the same thing, just never been able to express it as well.  How much harm are we doing by willingly splitting our churches?

Paul writes in Ephesians 4 (from the ESV) the following words:

I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit - just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call -  one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.

How often does the thought go through your head "Unity is a great thing, as long as it's on my terms!"?  It goes through mine all the time.  Bummer!
