"The nearest thing to eternal life we will ever see on this earth is a government program." -- Ronald Reagan

"The taxpayer: That's someone who works for the federal government but doesn't have to take the civil service examination." -- Ronald Reagan

"A society that will trade a little liberty for a little order will lose both, and deserve neither." -- Thomas Jefferson

People demand freedom of speech to make up for the freedom of thought which they avoid.  --Soren Kierkegaard

In America, anybody can be president. That's one of the risks you take." -- Adlai Stevenson
