It will be a fight to the death

The two teams have been trash talking all week. Now comes what may be the final dirty trick before the big game. I'm not talking about the Steelers and Cardinals. I'm referring the fact that NBC has refused to air the ad of a Catholic pro-life group. Judge for yourself - I think this video is very well done. It also happens to be pro-Obama. (I know - I'm just full of surprises!)

Did someone say the culture wars are over? I wish NBC had chosen the culture of life rather than the culture of death.

If you run into problems trying to reach the video link above, I believe it may have been "Google bombed."  A "Google bomb" is what happens when someone games the system and makes a link difficult to reach or makes the link to something disparaging/offensive. If you have trouble reaching the YouTube video, please cut and paste this URL - http://www.catholicvote.com/ - into your browser.

OK, I totally agree that they should have aired this. Most pro-life ads have a cheese-factor that's off the charts, but this one is good. Not exploitive, just thought-provoking. What did NBC give as their reason for refusing?

I couldn't find an official NBC statement. According to the spokesperson for CatholicVote.org (which produced the ad), their reason is that they don't allow political or advocacy issues to be aired.

An interesting side note (again my source is from CatholicVote.org): "The ad aired on BET in Chicago on Inauguration Day and it has become an Internet sensation with over 700,000 views in seven days. The CatholicVote ad was in the top 10 'most viewed' category on YouTube on Inauguration Day last week."

I suppose NBC doesnt notice that abortion numbers are in a steady decline regardless of what they air. They should have aired the ad though. It was powerful and strangely hundreds of thousands of people wind up seeing it anyway via the internet. NBC also doesnt realize we arent playing by their rules anymore.
