Friday Night Lights: Where Worship Comes Alive
We had a lengthy sojourn in Texas so I can appreciate that for many people "Friday Night Lights" is about "worshiping" at the shrine of football. The book (yes, there was a book before there was a television series) was about the Permian Panthers, a real Texas high school powerhouse.
Having just survived Super Bowl Sunday when the entire nation was worshiping at the "green cathedral" I know the game of football touches a lot of people. I know it touched our neighborhood. We couldn't find any sour cream - not one container - at two local grocery stores yesterday. Dip anyone? That "worship" (of football in Texas in particular and around our country in general) made me appreciate this story about Football and Missional Christians.
Now I think that's what Kingdom living ought to look like. I love the story - and I'd love to hear what you think about it.
