Go ahead, make my day

Wednesday of last week was one of those very good days because of good news - stuff that encouraged me and "made my day." (Though not in the Clint Eastwood way - I just needed a catchy title)

I received an e-mail from the seminary (DTS) alumni office that they want to feature one of my blog entries in the next alumni newsletter. The Gift Nobody Wants: A Practical Theology of Suffering will be excerpted in the next issue.

I raced home because I wanted to share the good news with Catherine. When I came in the door I almost forgot my good news because my new personalized license plates arrived that day.

                                               New Plates!

"E6" because I made staff sergeant in 5 years when I was in the Marines. "DMIN" because that's my doctorate. This is the "Marine Corps" Semper Fi plate that Virginia issues - but you have to have a DD214 to get one.

It was a very good day : -)

Alan -- A huge CONGRATS on your great day. Good deal on the publication of excerpts from your "Suffering" article. That is certainly worth sharing. And the license plate -- what fun! Ron <
